The quality of our lives often depends on the quality of our habits. With the same habits, you'll end up with the same results. But with better habits, anything is possible.

first 25, in reading orderSuccess is the product of daily habits-not once-in-a-lifetime transformations. You should be far more concerned with your current trajectory than with your current results.
Are you spending less than you earn each month? Are you making it into the gym each week? Are you reading books and learning something new each day? Tiny battles like these are the ones that will define your future self.
In reality, the results of our efforts are often delayed. It is not until months or years later that we realize the true value of the previous work we have done.
Ultimately, it is your commitment to the process that will determine your progress.
The most effective way to change your habits is to focus not on what you want to achieve, but on “who you wish to become”.
The real reason habits matter is not because they can get you better results (although they can do that), but because they can change your beliefs about yourself.
How to Create a Good Habit: Make it obvious. Make it attractive. Make it easy. Make it satisfying.
* Once our habits become automatic, we stop paying attention to what we are doing. * The process of behavior change always starts with awareness. You need to be aware of your habits before you can change them.
Give your habits a time and a space to live in the world. The goal is to make the time and location so obvious that, with enough repetition, you get an urge to do the right thing at the right time, even if you can't say why.
The habit stacking formula is: "After [CURRENT HABIT], I will [NEW HABIT]."
The more attractive an opportunity is, the more likely it is to become habit-forming.
Habits are a dopamine-driven feedback loop. Every behavior thats highly habit-forming-taking drugs, eating junk food, playing video games, browsing social media-is associated with higher levels of do-pamine.
Whenever you predict that an opportunity will be rewarding, your levels of dopamine spike in anticipation. And whenever dopamine rises, so does your motivation to act. It is the anticipation of a reward —not the fulfillment of it—that gets us to take action.
One of the most effective things you can do to build better habits is to join a culture where (1) your desired behavior is the normal behavior and (2) you already have something in common with the group.
Habit formation is the process by which a behavior becomes progressively more automatic through repetition. The more you repeat an activity, the more the structure of your brain changes to become efficient at that activity.
It's easy not to read a book when the bookshelf is in the corner of the guest room. It's easy not to take your vitamins when they are out of sight in the pantry. When the cues that spark a habit are subtle or hidden, they are easy to ignore.

With our bad habits, the immediate outcome usually feels good, but the ultimate outcome feels bad. With good habits, it is the reverse: the…
