Today, the incumbent corporate networks—including Facebook, Instagram, PayPal, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube—are owned by companies with aggregate market capitalizations in the trillions of dollars. It's reasonable to assume that if these networks were protocols, a significant portion of that value would instead be distributed to developers and creators at the edges.
