A note from Sary

Ch.5 AUTHORITY: Trustworthiness practice, If a reviewer confessed to making a previous mistake in his or her purchasing history, customers were more likoly to buy a product recommended by the reviewer. It Is important to recognize what I am not suggesting here that at the start, a marketer or salesperson state, "Before we begin, let me tell you all the things that are wrong with me, my organization, and our products and services." Rather, I am suggesting two things. First, if there is a drawback to be acknowledged, it should be presented relatively early in a message so the credibility it provides will color the rest of the appeal. Second, within a persuasive communication, there is an ideal place for one's strongest argument or feature, which can undercut or overwhelm the downside.
