A note from Daniel

Moxie Marlinspike (founder of Signal messaging app) cited the NFT marketplace OpenSea as an example of a corporate-owned application that could wrench control away from blockchain networks. But the blockchain networks that OpenSea interoperates with are well designed. When you sign up for OpenSea, you do so using a name that you own, tied to a blockchain like Ethereum. All the NFTs you own are also stored on a blockchain, not company servers. This makes it easy to switch to another marketplace while taking all the things you care about with you.
