When I ask people, "What makes a stock price go up?" they tell me stocks go up because interest rates go down. Or stocks go up because the company has higher earnings. Or stocks go up because they hired a better CEO. Or stocks go up because the dollar went up against the yen. Or a million other reasons, all of which are wrong.
