A note from Daniel

In Slack's case, it took nearly four years to go from founding Glitch to giving up on this first product, with nearly all of the company's funding spent and employees laid off. It took another two long years to repeat the arduous journey of going from zero to one: to pick a new product, find beta customers, announce the new product broadly, rebuild the team, change the name to Slack, and raise funding for the new strategy. This was the opposite of an overnight success.
