Dropbox's users could be divided into High-Value Actives (HVAs) and Low-Value Actives (LVAs), which was useful as a quality indicator. It could be overlaid into the strategies for marketing channels and partnerships to make sure HVAs were being acquired, not LVAs. The HVA versus LVA concept helped the Dropbox team understand and prioritize its various efforts.
