It's the process by which new innovations replace old ones, the cycle of birth and death that keeps an economy vibrant. It's the embodiment of the old adage: The only constant is change. In a dynamic economy, nothing is sacred. Every industry, company, and way of doing things can be disrupted by newer, better ideas. The smartphone replaced the flip phone, online streaming replaced movie rental stores, cars replaced horses.
