A note from Daniel

Speed bump #2: Confusing progress with competition Everyone loves to make personal progress towards their goals--that's human nature. When it comes to interacting with others, some people enjoy the thrill of head-to-head competition, while others prefer to band together, cooperate, and beat the system. When you're mapping out your social actions, make sure not to confuse personal progress (e.g. earning points and levels) with social competition (e.g. leaderboards). They're very different activities, driven by different motivations.
